Wanderweg’s philosophy – travel slowly, smell the roses, explore, be prepared to try new experiences, remain curious. Talk to people.
Remember “Not all those who wander are lost” J.R.R.Tolkein
I am frequently asked why I return to the same places over and over again.
That’s easy. Central Europe always has something new to offer yet the favourite places remain comfortably familiar. Everything is in easy travelling distance too, so, for example, you can hop from Vienna to Budapest or from mountains to lakes in a day.
There is an element of surprise wherever you go. It could be a wonderful evening listening to gypsy music in a pub, having a local meal in the market place, making new friends, turning a corner and having a breathtaking view of mountains, smelling the forest, listening to the best opera, watching the buskers, exhibitions you would queue hours for at home – I could go on. Most importantly, don’t rush because you will miss a lot.
Every year I explore somewhere new as well to keep the interest alive for clients.
The people I work with, including those in France and Spain, are small operators who have the same philosophy as I do.
It is all about sharing my passion with you .
