Day 1: Arrival day: Pick up from Ljubljana international airport (or the place you wish) Private transfer to your hotel and check in. Dinner in a typical Slovene restaurant (Gostilna), with sampling local traditional dishes and wine tasting from all 3 Slovene wine regions. http://www.gostilna-repnik.si/en/
Day 2 : Day trip to the unique, beautifully preserved herdsmen settlement on Velika Planina. Mountain with its unique architecture is a sort of open-air museum and offers unforgettable mountain views and experiences. Together we will discover the story of Trnič – cheese of Love and try to make „trnič“ cheese of our own together with a herdman. To reach the mountain we will either use cable car or have a walking day; 12 km hiking gaining 1200 m altitude. In the afternoon you can use our horse carriage service and have a ride in picturesque countryside. After you will have a guided tour of Kamnik, 800 years old Alpine town (20 km from capital Ljubljana).
Day 3 : Third day we will discover alpine valley of Kamniška Bistrica. We could reach it by bikes! Together with a guide we will get to know some natural features from the ice age and see natural heritage; such as Kamniška Bistrica River Spring, gorges of Veliki and Mali Predaselj, as well as cultural heritage: Plečnik Hunting Lodge and Memorial Park – memorial for all who died in the mountains boulders. In the afternoon it will be time for picnic!
Day 4: After breakfast we walk (about 2 hrs. ) to Budnar museum house with an open-fire smoke kitchen where we will have a special experience. First we will get old recipes, start to look for ingredients and cook in the old kitchen. You will make your Typical Slovene meal on your own. In the afternoon there will be time for relaxing at Snovik spa resort that is 3 km from our hotel.
Day 5 : It is time for hiking in the Alps. The trail begins in the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, in the glacier valley Kamniška Bistrica. The starting point is the mountain hut Dom in Kamniška Bistrica, from where a well-marked trail will lead you to Kamnik saddle (1864 m). The trail is pleasant and safe and is considered one of the most popular mountain trails in the Kamnik- Savinja Alps. The first part of the trail runs through the woods. The second part offers views all the way to Kamnik, Ljubljana basin and beyond. Once you arrive to the Kamnik hut on the Kamnik saddle, we recommend that you climb a bit higher, where you can enjoy a great view of the north side all the way to the Logar Valley. If you want, you can continue to Brana (2253 m).
Day 6: Sixth day it is going to be a time for discovering Kamnik-Savinja Alps. We will drive to Logarska dolina – Solčavsko where is one of the most beautiful alpine valleys in Europe. We will take a walk and visit major attractions such as: Rinka waterfall: one of the highest waterfalls in Slovenia, fossils from the Middle Triassic, zijalka cave – an archeological site from ancient time. Lunch we will have at one of the local restaurants well known for their trout from Savinja River..
Day 7: Departure day or extension
